Obituary

Stuart Allen Wharton went to be with His Lord on the morning of December 15, 2020

at his home near Amanda after fighting a courageous 3 ½ year battle with stage-4

cancer. Stuart was born on September 4, 1963, in Lancaster, to Donald Buryl Wharton

and Ruth Ellen Wharton (Loy).

for the family business, Buckeye Products. He subsequently earned his undergraduate

degree in Industrial Technology from Ohio University (Lancaster and Athens) and in

2000 he became president of Buckeye following the July passing of Donald, a position

that he held until the present.

Besides serving in the Navy Reserves, where he earned his full military retirement, Stu

was a long-time member of American Legion Post 11, in Lancaster, where he served as

a past Post Commander and was a long-time Trustee. Stu was also a member of the

Fairfield County Voiture Locale #498 of the 40/8, where he served as the 8th District
