Donald D. DeCamp, age 76 of Rockbridge, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center. Don was born December 29, 1944 in Columbus, son of the late Donald E. and Kathryn (Thomas) DeCamp. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from Norfolk Southern with 33 years of service. Don loved to garden and liked to be outdoors. He was an animal lover of horses, cats, and dogs. He loved to be home.
Don is survived by his wife of 44 years, Becky (Burris); children, Gary (Susan) Barton, of Boca Raton, FL, Cherie Cochburn, of Columbus, Brian Barton, of Lancaster, Chris (Pastor John) King, of Amanda, Donnie (Valerie) DeCamp, of Newark, and Debi Smith, of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren with one more on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service and celebration of life including military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Amanda Christian Church, 132 E. High St., Amanda with Pastor John King officiating. Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda.
